Terri and I want to give a special thank you to Dennis, Miki and Asahi. They invited us into their home and put up with us while we visited Georgia. Dennis drove us all over the state and with his sweet sense of direction and our V.C.A.S. helping us avoid trouble we had an excellent adventure.
My Georgia Vacation
On October 12, 2005 Terri and I set off to visit the great state of Georgia. We stayed at Terri's brother's home in Dallas, a suburb west by north west of Atlanta. My first impression is there are a lot of trees here but where are the Georgia peaches? I'll keep looking for them, they must be here somewhere.

Well we reached the end of the vacation and I never did see a peach tree in Georgia. I thought I had a sure thing with our trip to the botanical gardens but we didn't go there.  I did find out that peach trees were first introduced into Georgia in 1571.  In 1921 Georgia was shipping 8 million bushels of peaches to northern markets each year earning it the nickname "The Peach Tree State". Peach shipments have declined over the years to the current level of 2.6 million bushels.
